IHA Final

This will be a long post... With out further ado i give you:


Many people love to entertain their friends and family. After a lot of research I have found that most of the people 21 - 35 live in small spaces (whether it be home or apartment) how can they entertin in a small space where there is no way that they can fit a mini bar in to their space?

Aperitif [a drink that works as an appetite stimulator] is a customizable mini bar for the home that hangs on the wall. After purchasing the user can choose where and how they would like the bar to be displayed:

It holds 6 bottles of alcohol, 4 pieces of stem ware, other glasses and any other components to a bar that one would need.

Shown here there is even an area for the user and their guests to mix and serve drinks during the gathering.


The nice thing? You could potentially purchase the starter kit and after that you can purchase other sections to better blend the system in to your small space and also give yourself more storage.




This project was one of the most time consuming things that I have ever done.

Stuff to do! There is so much stuff to do!

This week has been crazy! This weekend only added to it. I am sorry for the delay on the IHA sketches those will be here no later than Tuesday night. Sadly I am already on mock ups. This week was just so fast paced with classes and studio especially that I didn't have time to fully load everything. This weekend was also one of the rare weekends where i got called in to work two days. Good as it may be to make money it has set me back some, though I should be fine by Tues.

With everything going on I just realized how long we really have left in the semester. AHHHHHHH scary! But you will all be updated within a few days. Tomorrow though my Tea Pot will officially be finished! I will Load the shots of that up as well. Well back to more work!

My sketches are there ( ha ) final ones will be posted later in the week. Quick ideation sketches will be posted tonight when I get home though. I am starting tonight on the mock ups... Those will be interesting!

My thoughts were interesting to see on paper. I had a major source of inspiration last night that is still working its way out right now but you will see soon. I am very excited for where this project is going. Finally I am enjoying it like I normally would.

I cant wait to get back to working on it. ;)

IHA / Thesis

For the International Housewares Association competition I have chosen to design a mini bar of sorts for small space living. Something that can be displayed and kept out if wanted but also be easily put away when not wanted out in the view of the world. This will also be easy to set up and clean up.

As of right now I am thinking that I will create on over all design and make specifications for personalization and specifics for certain types of drinking habits, mixed drinks and beer, wine, all of the above. I am working on getting a closer idea to what it will literally be by the end of the weekend. I will post that when it comes to me :)

So far other than initial research becoming in depth research with statistics I have been going chart happy. I have just finished the Blue Ocean set of Strategy canvas's. Here is an example of one. they are to help me find out where the market stands and what areas are not being tapped in to as of yet.



As of Tuesday we are now starting our Senior Thesis I will be going crazy starting to type up everything that is due at the end of the semester. But there will be more on this as time goes on. This year will be one hell of a time for me and everyone else in the senior ID labs.

My one goal though is to not sleep under my desk at the middle to end of next semester... Lets see if i can get there!

My mind will explode

It really eludes me that something that you have known you will have to do for years, something that you have spoken to so many about... And when it comes down to it.. You got nothing..

IHA is here and I need to know by Tues what I am doing and well I got nothing... ;) I have a few thoughts but nothing that I am remotely excited about. It is extremely frustrating. I am researching roughly in to my blerbs of ideas and trying to get a basic idea of where I stand. There are 12 topics to design within and I quickly eliminated but then i began to think about the rest of them. I had a few thoughts about them prior. I have been trying to think of things since this past summer but obviously I have been left with squat. Happy thoughts though!!!!

On Tues. I will post what I am doing. I am going to try to figure it out by tonight. I need to do some some preliminary work for it by class on Tues anyways.
