A sneak peak.

Here is a sneak peak of a few BIG projects that I have been wokring on. There will be more posted with in the next day or two.

Here is an example of some Marketing / Strategy Projects that I am working on. This is part of my suggestions for the Whitney Museum of American Art. (There is more to the project) But here is the  suggested redesign web site that I am putting with my report.

Here it is now:

I just feel that there is too much and is over whelming with things everywhere.

This is my suggestion:

The background will be changing art work all of time.

Here is a sample of what it would look like with a section opened:

This is just a small taste! I am adding a lot to my portfolio this week!

Stay tuned!

Cake anyone?

I love cupcakes who doesn't? They are cute, oh so good and they look good with anything!

I wanted to show and share my love of cupcakes and so I started to fiddle here and there and well while researching and looking around the first thing that happened was.....I got hungry. Really hungry! But then I got back to work and made this:

kuhp-kake is a play on the dictionary phonetics. I played with it a bit but i like that it is different yet cute.

I then created their website. I wanted something light and cute.

I am working on some new and interesting things this week...

Stay tuned!

Rhinebeck Farmers Market.

This afternoon taking a break from some house work I sat down and worked on a little project. I love the name combination so I sat down and got to work.

Rhinebeck is a a quaint town just north of where I am in Hyde Park. I have just learned that there is a winter market coming this year! Great huh? I also have been notified that the market has been up and running for 16 years now.

This is just small something that I wanted to work on. Even though there is a market exsisting I wanted to work on something local for fun.

There is a lot more coming in the next few days and coming weeks! I am very excited to share it!

Progress

Even though I feel like I have caught the black plague, I have been trying desperately to still truck on and get 'er done!

The past two days I finished up the mock up of my dice, and have my first round of cards.

Here is the mock up of the dice. Just really simple I am going to take out some of the beans on the insde.

This is a quick video of what the ball.

These are some quick versions of cards. I chose that the big one is not necessary. So I am going to push more and rework the cards ( smaller) over the weekend.

I have been brewing some new ones for a while now and this is in the works still but it is still being tweaked.

When it is better finalized i will let you in on everything. ;)

All finished!

Last Summer during my internship at Belcan in Cincinnati I was able to work with the National Historic Society. This project was a lot of fun. I was able to go down to Harrodsburgh,KY a few times. This is one of the project that I was able to do with them. ( the other is coming soon) It is so cool to see it finally be finished and in place. This is exactly what they wanted even though I had no idea to what colors they were choosing. But this is my design! Up and for all to see! ;)

Either way I love that I got the experience that I did and love to see it all set in place.

In other news I have been chosen by my work to design and carry out the window displays for the Haiku Holiday season. It is a competition in the Short North for their Business Commerce Association. I am doing a special installation piece as well I will be posting it as it comes to life. Sketches will be up soon as well.

Branding and some!

Here is the final branding and colors. I feel that they are gender neutral yet very child fitting. I also have the initials for the small tags on some of the tags. There is also the letter head which thank to am oops moment I have some main elements that I will be using for the rest of the project. tell me whatcha think!?

Opinion?

I have spoken to a few people and worked on these two versions of the logo. I am still going to work on them a bit but I would like to know what you think of it now? And I have put some color swatches. DO you like? Any suggestions? Just a progress check point for today there will be a final one by tomorrow depending on if anyone comments of the post.

I have also made a few choices for the toys

Wooden toys-
If painted will be eco paint.

Stuffed animals-
Recycled sweaters [ these will be labeled and separated 100% wool and cotton to aviod any allergies with children.

!00% cotton fabric accent

All will be filled with brown rice.

5% - 10% plastics when necessary. ( I am really trying to avoid the use of it but there is a design for a toy set that I worked up last night and I am so so so excited to start this and get it out. It will be less than 10% plastic though.)

For class I am creating a full business model and

logo / cards / mock site / letterhead etc. I am going all out for this for my portfolio. it will be for products and for graphic work as well to show off my sweet Skillz! (te hehehe)

Samples!

So For a class we are creating a business... I have had this in my thoughts for a while now.

The idea is for this company, Fawn Baby, to be all natural in everything that they create. their toys will be of wood as well as organic fabrics. Educational when always possible.

Here are some samples of type that I am messing with. I am going to mess with some things still. I want it to be simple but whimsical at the same time.

This is going to bleed in to some product ideas I have in store as well as some ads for it, a few other things too that I am hiding up my sleeves!

I am really excited to be working on this for a class finally! This will be drawn ot though until the end of Christmas Break. I will have it all done by then but things will be happening over the course of the semester.

Please let me know what you think though! Any and all!

Thanks Guys!

Mimesis leave behind

For my Contemporary Issues class we are working on a specified topic bio mimicry (a new discipline that studies nature’s best ideas and then imitates these designs and processes to solve human problems). I am working with a friend of mine and we chose to create what would be a data base for people to see what could or has been created with nature as the inspiration.

The idea is to have a website and a leave behind that could be left at a library, business, museum, etc. Just to enough to get people interested in going to the site. At the site there would be books to reference and read, contacts with professionals and institutions that specialize in it. as well as other links too.

The whole purpose is to get people inspired and interested in the idea and maybe they can research and find a new solution to a problem with the ideas of bio mimicry.

Together we designed the logo as well as the main basis of the colors, and the main design element. She went off to design the web site and I the leave behind. Here are some sample pages of it.

a name givith

So after much deliberation and time working on everything I have finally come up with a name for my product as well as a branding and even a cute tag line ( i think, even though it is an old proverb)

I wanted it to be clean and san serif type not to take away from anything. The product when done should speak for itself.

Tell me what ya think!
